Two portals called 11:11 — January and November
Half of what people type after “11 11 portal 2026” is about January: “11 11 portal january 2026”, “jan 11 2026”. That is a different date, the eleventh of January — written 1/11 — and in 2026 it has already passed.
The mix-up is older than search. The idea of an “11:11 doorway” was spread by the New Age writer Solara, whose book 11:11: Inside the Doorway came out in 1992, and the gathering Solara organized to open it was held on 11 January 1992. The January date started the practice; the November date is the one whose day and month both read eleven.
Why the world marks 11 November at all
Long before anyone called it a portal, 11 November was a date much of the world stops for. The armistice that ended the fighting of the First World War on the Western Front came into force at 11:00 Paris time on 11 November 1918 — the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. It is still kept as Remembrance Day and as Veterans Day.
That moment is 11:00, not 11:11, and it belongs to its own history. It is told here because it is the reason the date carries weight in so many countries — and it deserves to be told plainly, not folded into anything else.
What the date adds up to
